Interior design has shifted from light to dark. So many Santa Barbara homeowners are switching to shades of black, brown, and grey as opposed to pale woods. Everything, from cabinets to appliances, is taking on a darker shade. To some, these darker colors balance the daily stresses of life and create a comforting ambiance.

Like any fad, dark decorating may one day seem passe. The pink bathtubs from the 60s and green shag of the 70s definitely date a room. Nevertheless, your Santa Barbara home could be converted from ordinary to warm and cozy, if done correctly.
