A cutting edge trend in design is sweeping the country. For new tips on how to decorate their Santa Barbara home , plenty of residents are requesting help from a taxidermist. Stuffed animals are being carried at boutiques and fancy department stores. Taxidermy decorating is all over the place, from quails and partridges to zebras and bears.

Many people think that contemporary, cold interiors recieve a bit of warmth by using stuffed animals. Although many love the look of a deer head mounted above the mantle, others think it's a bit creepy. It is best to get your monkey while you can because there is no telling how long this taxidermy chic look will go on.

Summer is in full bloom. With heat spells stretching across much of the United States, energy to run the AC has become limited. There are numerous things you can do to cool off if your Santa Barbara home is without an AC.

To start off, keep something frozen in your hand for as long as possible. This can cool your body by as much as 3 degrees Fahrenheit and will last for up to an hour. If it starts to hurt, stop. Drink lots of water, even if you are not thirsty. You must compensate for all of the fluids lost from perspiration. Stay away from direct sunlight. If you must go outside, cover up with airy, loose-fitting clothing.

Turn off all heat sources such as lights or the TV. Get your hair wet by taking a cool shower or bath. Place a damp towel behind your neck, on your forehead, on the inside of your wrists and elbows, and on the backs of your knees. These points will naturally cool the rest of your body down.

If everything else fails, go to the library, a bookstore, or other air-conditioned location. People have lived for many years without AC. Roughing it for a couple days will not be that difficult.

In the Santa Barbara condo market, there is a bit of competition for buyers. To set your condo above the rest and to ensure a quicker sale, there are a lot of things you can do. First and foremost, be sure the price is right. Analyze the local market and surrounding neighborhood and price your condo off that. Invite multiple brokers over for a "open house." The more brokers you have, the exposure you will get.

Compose an individual "resource list" for prospective buyers. Empty nesters are often interested in fine dining or theaters while families are looking for local schools or parks. Make the kitchen and bathroom a point of focus. You will see big payoffs when you put money towards renovations here. Last but not least, offer rewards such as a few months free cable or grocery store gift card.

There has never been a better time to purchase a piece of real estate, although the Santa Barbara real estate market is slowing. As soon as you found a home in a hot market, you had to jump on it.

You can take your time to search for the perfect home now, since there is a greater choice in housing. Room for negotiations is possible in the existing market. Buyers have much more say at the table, although the overall process may take a bit longer. Presently, interest rates remain rather low. Rates might not be at 5.84%, as they were in 2004, but you are still getting a pretty good deal, all things considered.

Above all, a home is a great investment. Owning a piece of real estate will produce great tax advantages, whether you are buying to sell or buying to keep.

Times they are-a-changing, especially in regards to the design of Santa Barbara homes . It is likely that the greatest change since the 1970s is the amount of square footage. Up from 1,600 square feet in 1973, the average new home has a spread of 2,400 square feet. Bathrooms have moved from less than two per home, to at least two.

Kitchens have had an increase as well, from a humble 9x10, to a tremendous 285 square feet. Islands, breakfast bars, and nooks are a few of the additions to many kitchens. An old-fashioned living room is a feature of the past. Nowadays families assemble around the flat screen TV instead. Many garages allow for more than two cars and a complete laundry room is essential. Children are less likely to share a room as four bedrooms are becoming typical. Keep posted, Santa Barbara real estate is going to change with the times.

Plenty of baby boomers are modifying the extra bedrooms in their Santa Barbara homes. Aging parents or children in their 20s, coming home after college, are the main occupants of these rooms. Decorating a room for kids is very different from decorating for an older adult.

In the case of an aging parent, a separate sense of space and privacy must be created. Space for medical materials in the bedroom or bathroom should be considered too.

The fight over cell phone towers close by Santa Barbara homes is many times inconsistent. Most people want not as many dropped calls with even better cell phone coverage. On the other hand, a lot of communities hope to keep cell towers out of their neighborhoods. Towers might lower property value and are very unattractive. To work properly, a cell tower needs to be in sight. This means an ugly, massive piece of steel must be put in higher than the tree line. This does not fit well into a community layout, but is OK for an urban setting.

To combat this, companies began putting towers in that resemble trees. Although, there isn't anybody that is fooled by a fake tree. When discussing towers with communities, cell phone companies need to be sensitive and open. In turn, Santa Barbara households should remember that they are capable of winning a fight against cell phone companies. By going into the situation with a team mentality, both sides should get what they want.

A lot of individuals in their 20s are securing Santa Barbara real estate . For twentysomethings, purchasing a home indicates a greater sense of responsibility and commitment. The payback, however, is great. 20 years ago, people in their 20s were much less inclined to buy real estate than they are nowadays.

Money is tight, but the liberty of becoming self-supported is worth so much. Instead of paying rent to somebody else, several young homeowners prefer to pay a mortgage. A leaky toilet or new driveway might need to be purchased on a credit card, but at 25, a Santa Barbara real estate investment is worth a lot.

Interior design has gone to dark from light. Many Santa Barbara homeowners opt for shades of black, brown, and grey instead of pale woods. Darker hues are found everywhere, from cabinets to faucets. To so many, these darker colors provide a pleasant ambiance and balance the stresses of daily life.

Like any fad, dark decor may one day seem dated. The formica of the 50s and green shag of the 70s certainly date a room. However, your Santa Barbara home could be transformed from ordinary to warm and cozy, if done properly.
